So it looks like just touching the accounts caused the authentication to work properly and a restart of the Outlook app solved the sync problem. Using the sync button failed to bring in the missing emails.Ĭlosing the Outlook app, then restarting the Outlook app and the sync started and the missing emails appeared. Then with no other intervention the exchange account went green.Īt this point I could send and receive emails from both accounts, but the exchange account was missing emails from the time it was upgraded and the changes I just made. When the gmail account was added it appeared as green (connected). Install the latest 15.xx version of Office for Mac 2016. To fix it I deleted the gmail account, and added it again. To do this, open Outlook and go to File > Export and then follow the steps above. In the Outlook accounts dialog both were marked yellow and both kept asking for password which did nothing except ask again. My Outlook account had 2 emails one exchange the other gmail.
